Dr. Ra’Kerry K. Rahman is a highly trained spine surgeon with a reputation for clinical excellence, academic achievement, and compassionate care. Based in the Houston area, Dr. Rahman is known for his commitment to patients suffering from complex spine conditions, as well as for his work in education, research, and global medical outreach. Dr. Rahman earned his medical degree with Honors and Distinction in Research from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia University, serving as chief resident and receiving a prestigious OREF research grant. He further specialized through a spine surgery fellowship at Washington University, training under world-renowned experts in spinal deformity and cervical spine surgery. Following his fellowship, Dr. Rahman held faculty and leadership roles at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and later returned to Washington University for advanced apprenticeship training in complex spinal deformity. He has received numerous academic and teaching honors and has authored more than ten peer-reviewed publications in the field of spine surgery. Dr. Rahman is an active member of elite professional societies, including the Scoliosis Research Society and the Cervical Spine Research Society. His passion for helping underserved communities has taken him on medical missions to Ghana, Mexico, and Colombia, where he has performed life-changing spinal surgeries. Dr. Rahman continues to combine top-tier surgical expertise with a deep commitment to patient-centered care.
